Saudi Arabia Intercepts Explosive Drone South of Mecca
According to BBC World, Saudi Arabia recently intercepted and shot down an explosive drone launched by Houthi forces. The aerial vehicle was neutralized in the area south of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, preventing what coalition authorities described as a direct assault on the revered Islamic holy city. In the wake of the incident, the Saudi-led coalition publicly accused the Houthi movement of deliberately targeting the holy site. However, representatives for the Houthi forces have strongly denied these allegations, rejecting claims that Mecca was the intended destination of the drone strike.
